BBB Celebrates 100th Year by Ringing the Closing Bell of NYSE on July 27, 2012

Oakland, CA July 27, 2012 - - We are delighted to announce that the Council of Better Business Bureaus will have the special privilege of ringing the New York Stock Exchange Closing Bell today Friday, July 27, in recognition of the national Better Business Bureau Centennial.  This bell-ringing event celebrates 100 years of BBB efforts to advance trust in the marketplace, and honors the high standards upheld by BBB Accredited businesses and charities. 
 
Thank you for all you have done to contribute to this extraordinary 100-year milestone!  We greatly appreciate your participation in the Better Business Bureau and its programs.
 
Carrie A. Hurt, President and CEO of the Council of Better Business Bureaus will ring the bell.  She will be joined on the NYSE Euronext bell podium by Metro New York BBB President and CEO Claire Rosenzweig; Metro New York BBB Board Chair Rhonda J. McLean, Deputy General Counsel of Time Inc.; members of the CBBB management team; and members of the Metro New York BBB Executive Committee and Board of Directors.
 
The ringing of the bell will be filmed by NYSE Euronext and uploaded to their YouTube channel (www.youtube.com/user/nysetv1) soon after the 1:00 pm PST market close.
